A London-based illustrator creating vivid works inspired by Identity, landscape and natural surroundings
Gay Kershaw is a British illustrator of Caribbean heritage.
Born and raised in Leeds, Gay is based in London where she has lived for most of her adult life.
Gay’s illustration practice reflects her interest in identity, place, landscape and the natural world around her. She prefers to render her artwork in coloured pencil, ink and watercolour.
Gay studied Fashion at Jacob Kramer College (now Leeds Arts University) and her long professional career included a five year period within London’s fine art and antique sector.
On completing the associated Arts and Creative Industries Foundation course in 2024, Gay has gone on to undertake an Illustration BA Honours at Middlesex University. She is currently in the second year of her degree.
This portfolio contains a small selection of Gay’s works to date. It is updated regularly to include new pieces and projects, with some works available to purchase.
